LOVE CHANGES ROLES, BUT IT NEVER CHANGES ITS MEANING
There comes a moment in life when there is a strange familiarity…
The hands that once held yours .....now need you to hold them
The voice that once told you, “Be careful,” may now ask you to slow down.
And the person who once made every decision for you may now need your help making theirs.
That is when love begins to change its role.
When you were young, your parents carried you.
They fed you, protected you, worried about you, and stayed awake when you were sick.
They taught you how to walk through every phase of life....
And then, without warning... life turns the page.
Now you may be the one reminding them about appointments…
Helping them with technology…
Driving them where they need to go…
Repeating the same answer for the third time…
Or simply sitting beside them when they don't need advice—just your presence.
It can be exhausting.
Sometimes, it can even test your patience.
But remember…
They are not becoming children.
They are becoming older.
It is simply another chapter of being human.
In these times all you need to do is be considerate & be present
And the most important gift to aging parents is the reassurance that they are still seen, still valued, and still loved.
Remember.... the meaning of love doesn't change.
It simply finds a new way to express itself.
So if you're caring for an aging parent, remember this:
**You are not just caring for the person who raised you.
You are honoring the love that raised you.**
And one day, when you look back, you may realize…
The role changed.
But the love never did.
