Stop Being So Self-Conscious — Start Living
Have you walked into a room and immediately wondered:
“How do I look?”
“Are they noticing me?”
“Did I say something stupid?”
“Do I look out of place?”
And suddenly…
instead of actually experiencing your life,
you're watching yourself experience it.
That's exhausting.
Here's how to step out of that trap.
Step one: Remember that people are thinking about themselves too.
Most people aren't studying you nearly as closely as you imagine.
They're worrying about their own appearance, their own words, their own lives.
Step two: Stop asking, “How am I being perceived?”
Start feeling and observing let your energy flow
Look around.
Listen.
Notice the conversation.
Notice the music.
Notice the moment.
Move your attention outward.
Step three: Allow yourself to be imperfect.
You will occasionally say the wrong thing.
Wear something you later ......dislike.
Forget someone's name.
Have an awkward moment.
So what?
Being human isn't embarrassing.
It's normal.
Step four: Do one thing each day that makes you slightly uncomfortable.
Speak up.
Try travelling by yourself....alone.
Wear what you actually like.
Try something new.
Every time you survive discomfort, your confidence grows.
And remember this:
**Confidence isn't believing everyone will approve of you.
Confidence is knowing you'll be okay even when they don't.**
Stop performing your life.
Start living it.
