60 MINUTES TO WISDOME : Episode 12 :The Courage to Admit You Have Changed Your Mind

The Courage to Admit You Have Changed Your Mind

What if changing your mind isn't a sign.... that you were wrong?

What if it is an evidence that you learned something?

We often treat consistency as a virtue. Saying Out Loud...

"But you always believed that."

"You said you'd never do that."

"That's not who you are."

Those statements can make change ....feel like betrayal.

But life gives us information we didn't have before.

You meet people.

 we Experience consequences.

Gain perspective at various phases ....

And discover that what once seemed important no longer matters as much.

Maybe you once believed success meant working harder.

Now you understand that time has value too.

Maybe you thought staying in a relationship proved loyalty.

Now you understand that loyalty ....without mutual respect ....can become self-abandonment.

Maybe you believed asking for help was weakness.

Then life taught you that accepting support.... can actually be an expression of strength.

Changing your mind doesn't erase your past.

It means your understanding has expanded.

There is an important difference between being inconsistent and being capable of growth.

Consistency says:

"I must remain the person.... I once... was."

Wisdom says:

"I can honor who I was while.... becoming someone wiser."

So if your values, priorities, or direction have changed, don't automatically apologize for it.

Examine the reason.

If experience has taught you something ....meaningful, ....allow yourself to evolve.

Remember ,,,,

You are not obligated to remain loyal to an old belief simply because it once belonged to you.

Until next time...

Give yourself permission to learn, reconsider, and change direction.

Sometimes wisdom is simply having the courage to say, "I know better now."
